#10. She’s going the distance… she’s going for speed…

“She’s all alone, all alone in her time of need” I love CAKE. Not this kind:  Well.. yes… this kind too.. But CAKE: Anyway, now I’m hungry and I’m stuck in the 8th grade listening to my CAKE tape… I’ve been walking to and from work from the train stations, and nixing the buses. So [...]

#10. Frustrated

Celery for dinner, changed my commute to work by walking  4 miles a day 7 days a week. Yoga. No pasta, no breads. Only fruits, veggies, protein (YES, even organic chicken is back!) and multigrains. I eat every 3 hours, fruits, cheeses, veggies, grains…so I’m not starving. Scale hasn’t budged and INCH. NOTHING! What the heck is [...]

#10. Maybe these boots were ONLY made for walk’n….

I’m trying to get back into running. And by running, I mean trying not to kill myself out of sheer frustration and throwing myself off a bridge. I realize I’m getting older, but is 26 REALLY too old to start running? I’ve always been super athletic, softball, PT in JROTC, volleyball, cheerleading, chasing kids around [...]

#10. 5K Fail :(

I didn’t cross the finish line. In fact… I didn’t even MAKE it to the start line.  These were all my hurdles that kept me from my goal. 1. I woke up sick as a dog (head cold) Saturday morning (race day). 2. I worked some serious overtime at work all week, I was incredibly exhausted [...]

#10 2 weeks before my 1st 5K!!

Clearly, I’m nervous. I’m no where I wanted to be pace wise… or even stamina wise.  I can only run at a 14-15minute pace…and only about 8-10 minutes at a time before I have to walk for a minute. My rest periods are much shorter than when I started…and then again, I did just start [...]

#10 One Month Before my first 5K

May 8th. D-Day. Or, well.. 5K Day.  Feeling Inventory: Excited, apprehensive, nervous, inspired. I went to the gym yesterday (geeze I LOVE this place). And I did the best TIMED run so far.  I went 100% out of my comfort zone and pushed harder than I ever have. So much so, I thought I was [...]

#10 I ABS-solutely give up…sort of…

Discouragement is the understatement of the century. This past week has been brutal for me to stay dedicated. Crappy weather, big projects at work, crazy lady hormones, and of course..that injury from the week before. I only got to work out twice last week, and it didn’t push very hard AND I ate like crap [...]
